A New Approach to Personalized Massage
Signature BodyWork Massage includes many distinct treatments that you won’t find anywhere else in Norway. Developed and continuously improving massage flows, organized for very specific professions and hobbies that create particular challenges in your body.
My BodyWork is designed to help chefs, service workers, singers, musicians, bus drivers, motorcyclists and office workers to name but a few.
Full List and explanations of each treatment found here.

The Holistic Approach
Each BodyWork session starts with a Classic full body approach to relax the nervous system before the specific areas are reassessed and worked on. Unlike the majority of sports/deep tissue massages that miss the most relaxing and very significant step. I include it in every Signature Massage.
Choosing to jump straight into the area of pain or discomfort doesn’t make sense to me. So I choose a different, more traditional and holistic approach. I know you will love the results.
In a like manner I believe it is vitally important to see you my client as a person, with a soul, and not just as a mechanical body of flesh and bones. The holistic approach to health and wellness I’ve developed is a major part of why alternative treatments, such as massage, has been used to great effect for thousands of years.
This outlook is also evident in how I approaches physical fitness, nutrition and healthy living in general. And why I start every BodyWork session with the Classic massage to help calm your nervous system.
I try to look at the whole person and their individual situations.
Whether working towards improving eating habits, strength and fitness levels or a calm and relaxed body (and mind).
It’s all one holistic thing! And there is a real person with a soul involved.
I can’t ignore that!

Techniques I Use In Signature Massage
Let’s look at some of the different techniques used in Signature BodyWork.
Deep Tissue Massage
Using the thumbs, knuckles, elbows and forearms with deep pressure and the knowledge of the layers of the body. This enables me to be as effective as possible and within the level of comfort acceptable for the individual.
I work with the deeper muscle tissue in these layers to help relax, lengthen, and release your habitual holding patterns.
These impaired postural patterns can bring pain, discomfort, dysfunction and poor posture. The aim is to help bring your body closer to a more balanced and normalized function.
IASTM + Gua Sha
IASTM stands for ‘Instrument Assisted Soft Tissue Manipulation’ it has similarities to Gua Sha, a type of Traditional Chinese Medicine and both are becoming more popular with physical therapists and medical professionals.
Qualified practitioners who use either of these techniques may claim all sorts of currently unproven ‘magical’ effects but these claims are as yet unstudied by research.
There are however some great techniques within these practices that have been studied to good effect and work very, very well in relieving general muscle tensions and in improving flexibility and mobility.
This in turn can help general aches, pains and discomforts that a Classical treatment or even deep tissue massage alone isn’t able to affect quite as well and I use only what has proven to be helpful!
Thai Massage
There are two main features of Thai massage, also known as Thai Yoga, that can add good benefits after the soft tissue treatments have taken place. The first is best described as assisted yoga poses and includes yoga style stretching with a therapist or an individual certified in Thai Massage, and may be static in nature or dynamic like in a rocking stretch.
The other feature is best described as joint opening or traction and is focused on creating space at the joints to increase mobility. You can in some cases also combine the traction of joints and the stretching of the muscles around the joint to improve range of motion.
The aim here as I use it, is to relax, stretch and open up the body which intern gives further relief to problem areas. I might use only one or two Thai Yoga techniques and close to the end of a treatment.
There are many other techniques I include from other massage modalities including Reflexology, Ayuvadic, Tai Na, Orthopedic Massage to name a few.

Medical Treatment
I want to make sure you understand that the above modalities and their use during a treatment are not specific medical treatments for a medically diagnosed disease, injury or illness, for which your healthcare system should be consulted.
In addition, understand there is a difference compered with sports massage or fitness recovery strategies, performance enhancement modalities or post injury rehabilitation techniques. More information found here Sports and Fitness Massage / Services.
A Poem About Not Giving Up
See It Through
When you’re up against a trouble,
Meet it squarely, face to face;
Lift your chin and set your shoulders,
Plant your feet and take a brace.
When it’s vain to try to dodge it,
Do the best that you can do;
You may fail, but you may conquer,
See it through!
Black may be the clouds about you
And your future may seem grim,
But don’t let your nerve desert you;
Keep yourself in fighting trim.
If the worst is bound to happen,
Spite of all that you can do,
Running from it will not save you,
See it through!
Even hope may seem but futile,
When with troubles you’re beset,
But remember you are facing
Just what other men have met.
You may fail, but fall still fighting;
Don’t give up, whate’er you do;
Eyes front, head high to the finish.
See it through!
